The Brief
A global custodian required an administrator to support one of its LPs with more than $20 billion in AUA and 300+ underlying investments. As the private markets portfolio grew, it needed a scalable approach to data extraction, validation, and accounting.
The Engagement
Over nine months of development, MUFG Investor Services worked with the global custodian to establish an automated operating model for the LP’s portfolio, supporting data collection, capital calls, distributions, and valuations.
The Outcome
Over the six years since go-live, the LP and global custodian achieved a 99.8% accuracy rate across more than 5,400 transactions and 11,000 valuations. The number of investments increased by 68% without expanding internal staff, and straight-through processing rates reached 90%.
